changes

As you can see, I have re-designed the site. This means my old theme will be available shortly. I said this last post, and it took a while, but I assure you, I’m back in the groove of things and staying up WAY too late with this stuff. The new theme will be called “Elite.” Why, I don’t know, it just sounds cool.

Technical Difficulties

Site has been down for a few days, sorry for the downtime.

I am looking to release my current theme for download in the next week or so. What should I name it? any ideas?

activeCollab vs. Basecamp

I recently FINALLY found a decent alternative to Basecamp. Allthough Basecamp is a very robust and well made system, it costs quite a bit (even $12/month can add up for a poor boy like me). ActiveCollab has almost all similiar features, and has updates on the horizon that will make this a definite change for me.

activeCollab is an easy to use, web based, open source collaboration and project management tool. Set up an environment where you, your team and your clients can collaborate on active projects using a set of simple, functional tools. 100% free!

Updated Picasa Web Matrix

Updated a problem where the thumbnail size was too big. For now, it’s a clunky workaround in that you have to go into the widget php file and edit the img width attribute to your desired size. See the updated zip file and check out the readme text file in it for a better example.

Young people who cook at home eat better

This is definitely something I want to get used to. All young people should try and eat home more. Boycott the fast food.

However, relatively few young people regularly shop for, plan, or cook meals for themselves, Larson, of the University of Minnesota, and her colleagues found. Just 21 percent of young men and 36 percent of young women bought fresh vegetables every week, for example, while 44 percent of the men made a dinner with chicken, fish or vegetables at least once a week.

Larson’s team surveyed 1,710 18- to 23-year-olds about how they shopped for and prepared food. Young adulthood, when many young people move away from home and fend for themselves for the first time, is a key period for building lifetime eating habits, the researchers note in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.
